This is the book written by Louise Moreau - W3SRE to introduce the new
collector to the history of telegraph keys. She presents and describes a
wide variety of different instruments and explains how they all fit into the
development of telegraphy in America. This was a pioneering book and it
introduced several generations of key collectors to the details of the
history of keys. As people have dug more deeply into the early history of
telegraphy and the history of telegraph key manufacturers a few of her
statements have turned out to be incorrect but she deserves great credit for
being the first to popularize key collecting.
