These pages show a book offered by Siemens and Halske in 1860. They were the
major maker and supplier of telegraph instruments in Europe. The book
describes the instruments in use at that time. It also explains the theory
behind submarine telegraph transmission and the electrical and mechanical
instruments and cables that make it possible. Unfortunately, the copy was
made in the Siemens Archives in Munich and it is not very good but I think you
will find that it is readable.
