SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT PRICES:
This is an exceptionally rare German WW-2 cipher machine used in Hitler's army
for the most secret and secure communications. It is much rarer than an
Enigma cipher macine but we will look at the Enigma pricing as an example.
Since Original German Eigmas are extremely rare and hard to find, the prices
paid in several recent sales of Enigmas have been widely publicised and
consequently, the values of Enigmas have increased dramatically. Most
recently a 3-rotor German Army WW-2 Enigma sold at open auction by Christie's
for $ 208,000 US Dollars. With the buyer's premium factored in, this means
that the buyer paid almost $ 250,000 US Dollars for it. This machine is much rarer
than the Enigma and the few that have ever been found and sold commanded
prices of two to three times the price of this example.
This is an exceptionially rare original WW-II German SG41 as used in the
German High Command. The SG41 or Schlusselgerat was developed late in the war
to replace the Enigma as a more secure alternative.
It is in very good condition considering its age.
